How To Get There
By road: there is relatively good road from Rio to Angra dos Reis (car and coaches), the famous Road Rio - Santos (Estrada Rio Santos).
By air: there is a regular service of helicopter too, until Angra dos Reis.
From Angra, regular service of motor boats to Ilha Grande. It is also possible to take a motor boat from Managaratiba.


Where to stay
There are plenty of good hotels, pousadas, mainly at Vila Abraão and Bananal. You are strongly advised to book your hotel/pousada before getting there. Specially, during local holiday or vacations. At these moments, it is hard to find a good place to stay.


Restaurants
At Ilha Grande you will have plenty of choice of regular restaurants, usually at the hotels or pousadas. It is not easy, outside Vila Abraão, to find restaurants out of hotels. Only bars.


Nights at Ilha Grande
If you like go out at night, it is certainly a good idea to stay at Vila Abraão. Outside this little town, it is hard to find a place to go elsewhere. Take a good book to read or go the next bar to drink a caipirinha and dinner.
