Welcome
to the Pantanal
Mid Brazil's biggest Swampland area
Pantanal (States of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul),
a vastness of swamplands in Central Brazil, is a unique ecosystem for
animals and birds. By the way, one of the world's most important preservation
area.
Yuo can visit this wonderful place and stay in a farm, where you will
know local population live and discover this ecological sanctuary. Jacarés
(alligators), capivaras, ariranhas, tuiuius and many
other species - even, by chance, the famous onça pintada - can be seen by visitors.
How to get there
Brasília and São Paulo are the best gates to the Pantanal. There are daily
flights to Campo Grande (Mato Grosso do Sul), to go the the South
Pantanal, and to Cuiabá (Mato Grosso), to go the North Pantanal. Both are good options to
discover Pantanal. However, to watch animals, it is adi that South Pantanal is better. Meanwhile, the famous road
that crosses Pantanal - the Transpantaneira, as in the photo below - is the North Pantanal.
From these cities, there transfer offered by local tour operators.
What to do
Pantanal is for nature lovers and explorers. Bird and animals watching
is the main activity for visitors, as well fishing and horse riding.
Ecological tours are proposed by tour operators to discover the
region, mainly by boats.
Where to stay

local people live and, sometimes, survive. There plenty of these farms
that offer full packages for your journey. Our local partner Fazenda
Barranco Alto (Barranco Alto Farm) may offer what you expect during
your stay in Pantanal.
