How to get there
The easiest way to get to Ouro Preto is from Belo Horizonte, the Capital of the State of Minas Gerais. Ouro Preto is
situated at less than 100 km from Belo Horizonte. Foreign visitors can get there with connections
in other Brazilian major cities (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, among other cities).
From Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo, too, it is possible to get there by
the Federal Road BR-040. You can take a bus or hire a car to get there.
What to do
Ouro Preto's major attractions are its churches, such as the
São Francisco de Assis, Nossa Senhoa do Pilar, Iracema
and Nossa Senhora da Conceição Churches. Some good Museums,
as the Oratorio, Inconfidência, Arta Sacra and
Aleijadinho are to be included in your what to do list.
