Financial and Services Center
The State Capital São Paulo City, concentrates most of Brazil's
finance, bank and other services. By its airports
- Guarulhos, Congonhas, Viracopos - travel most
of the country's passengers. And the port of Santos is Latin
America's most important one.
Brazil's Leading Economic Power
The State of
São Paulo is Brazil's leading economic power as
it concentrates the larger individual part of the country's GIP. Since
colonial times, the
paulista bandeirantes push their influence
to the State and the country's hinterland, arriving at Northern Region
border, beyond the
Mato Grosso and
Goiás. These times
were marked by the Brazilian
gold rush.
A Modern Agro-business
The very first
paulista commodity, the
coffee, was a
symbol of the Brazilian agriculture for a long time. These days are
gone and the
paulista agro-business is a very performing
activity: coton, sugar-cane, coffee, oranges and many other products.
