- Praia de Ponta Negra: very nice beach situated in a bay. In the south of this bay lays the beautiful Morro do Careca - a 120 m high
dune. Ponta Negra is Natal's fashionable beach - the actual point - and together with the Morro do Careca, one of the

 - Genipabu: Praia de Genipabu is a very nice beach - situated in Extremoz, in Greater Natal - dunes, buggy tours. City Postcard.
- Praia do Forte: quiet beach, windsurf, near the Reis Magos fort
- Praia do Meio is the nearest beach of downtown
- Praia dos Artistas: nice beach and former point of Natal
- Praia de Areia Preta: good beach, stones and grey sand; surf
- Praia de Mãe Luiza: beach near a poor quarter of the city; Mãe Luiza Lighthouse. Natal's wonderful view from the lighthouse
- The Praia da Redinha (or Ridinha): situated in niehgbouring Extremoz. Mouth of Rio Potengi, where the river waters meet the ocean. Boat and jangada tours.
