The beautiful beaches of Rio Grande do Norte begin with those of the state capital Natal and Ponta Negra beach. A lot of hotels, sunshine almost all year round and cheerful and lively nights.

Natal Beaches

Some of the best beaches of Rio Grande do Norte are in Natal, the state capital. Ponta Negra Beach, Via Costeira Beach (Coastal Highway) and Praia do Meio are among the most frequented by both visitors and the inhabitants of the city.

The South Coast

Begins in municipality of Parnamirim and spans for 100 km to Baía Formosa, on the border with Paraíba. Highlights for this beautiful coast are the beaches of Tibau do Sul, of which the famous Pipa Beach.

The North Coast

The beautiful north coast - 300 km length - starts just across the Rio Potengi, with beautiful Genipabu Beach, that with Ponta Negra Beach is one of the postcards of Rio Grande do Norte. Heading north and then, after Touros, going to the west through stunning sceneries, salt and ends in Tibau, along the border of the neighboring state of Ceará.

Fernando de Noronha Island is a true ecological sanctuary. All the island is a National Park and Area of Protection of the Environment. Its beaches, due to this fact, are said to be Brazil's most beautiful beaches.

At the Discovery Coast of Bahia, Porto Seguro and nearby beaches have always been the prefered ones, specially during the Carnival. In spite of the difficulties to get there, Jericoacoara is the most in of all Ceará's beaches, and, even of Brazil's beaches. Americans love Jeri.



Praia da Pipa beach, in the Natal's neighbourhood, in Rio Grande do Norte State, is a beautiful. Dunes and lagoons complete the landscape.

Porto de Galinhas and its natural swiming pools has become in a few years one of the most cheerful beaches of Pernambuco State. It is veary easy to get there because the beach is not far away from Recife.

Lençóis maranhenses Natural Park s a fantastic ecological sanctuary. It is one of Brazil's most beautiful ones. There are interesting tours proposed to visit the Lençóis maranhenses comfortably.

Maragogi Beach, in the Coral Coast, Barra de São Miguel and popular Praia do Francês are most appreciated beaches in Alagoas State. Maceió, the state capital, attracts many visitors all year long.
