The Maranhão's coast, mainly its eatern part, is one of Brazil's most beautiful
ones. There is a natural park - the Parque Nacional dos Lençóis maranhenses - which is one of Brazil's most beautiful ones. Considered
an ecological sanctuary, there are plenty of nice beaches to discover there, with fantastic dunes and beautiful lagoons which, together, make a wonderful landscape.
The sea water, as in other Nordeste States, is a delight: lukewarm and
blue or light green. And the white fine sands is another must. In addition,
the local cooking (lobster, shrimps and many other delightful menus) will
count as well and make visitors feel happy.
The Lençóis maranhenses
Some of these beaches are very exciting, such as Ponta Negra and
Praia da Pipa (Picture just below).
The Delta do Parnaíba
Another ecological santuary, the Delta do Parnaíba, which is situated at the Piauí border,
deserves a visit.
The São Luís Beaches
