Travelling to the Brazilian Amazon is always a big adventure.

who have succeeded building an European civilisation in the jungle's heart, which, a long
time ago has been called "the green hell" by avid explorators.

So, towns and towns were built, on the rivers' banks. And with these towns,
urban equipements, public light, theatres with rich decoration made by the most
important artists of that time, modern building fully imported from the United Kingdom or elsewhere
in Europe. These times were the Amazon Golden Age.
Ecology
Fortunately, minds have changed since then and, the devastation caused by this first savage development
has created the necessity of preservation and of saving this enormous natural patrimony.
Nowadays, the discovery of the Amazon is made following the rules of the "ecologically correct" policy.
Mythes et légendes
Maybe, you want only to go to the one of the biggest spectacle of the region,
the Folklore Festival of Parintins during June. It will be a great occasion
to discover and know the myths and the legends - the "Mãe d'água" (the "Mother
of the Waters", for instance or the Legend of the Guaraná) - of this land
that try to preserve its secrets.
