The Power of Biodiversity
Amazonas major economic richness come from the huge forest
that covers its territory, that's to say, the extraction of
produces of vegetal origin. Besides that, the wealth of its
hydric resources favour fishing activities.
Industrial Platform
The creation of the Manaus Free Zone (Zona Franca de Manaus)
in 1967, gives a new push to the State economy. For this reason, the
State of Amazonas is the only state of the Northern Region
where industry is the most important economic sector and reaches almost
60% of the State's PIB.
Ecological Tourism
The vastnes of the Amazonian world and its mysteries are among Brazil's
most important attractions: Manaus, the hotels in the jungle
and the Parintins Folklorical Festival
