In
Brazil, Carnival is always a big occasion to feast with mockery. From North
to South Brazil, streets and clubs are coloured and decorated with Carnival's
symbols such as masks, pierrots and colombines. Wherever you are you can
dance and participate to carnival parades.
Different Carnivals
If
you are in Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Porto Seguro, Recife, Olinda or Belém,
carnival is different from one city to another.
In Rio de Janeiro, main spectacle takes place at the Sambódromo,
a closed space at the Avenida Marquês de Sapucaí, in downtown Rio, where
the Escolas de Samba parade. Parades

In
Salvador, the music is another. People follow the Trios
Elétricos and dance during all a week... Main point to meet all
the people: the famous Castro Alves Place (Praça Castro Alves), a
Brazilian and Bahianian poet who fought for the freedom of slavery. To learn

In Recife and Olinda, another flavour to carnival. Here, its
music is the frevo and its symbols are

in short and to speak frankly, there Brazilian Carnivals.
Then, pick the one that suits you best and live one foolish night (or week)!
It will certainly be a unforgettable experience of your life. If you like
great and luxurious spectacle, go to Rio (but do'nt forget to buy your
ticket!!!). If you like crowded feast, go to Salvador (and buy your
abada to follow the Trio Elétrico)). If you want discover
a new way to play the carnival, go to Recife or Olinda (and buy nothing!).
