A
city with headlight vocation
The Brazil's former capital remains to our times a city of major importance
in our country: tourism, fashion, culture and music have always been very
strong in Rio de Janeiro. Buts, it is because of its worldwide well known
Carnival and its big
football stadium, the Maracanã,
that Rio is the Brazilian city the most known in the world. The personality
of its inhabitants, the cariocas,
its slakening way of live, its joy of life are also a part of the folklorical
images of Rio de Janeiro. That's all for the post-card side of Rio.
Besides of the post-card
aspects we must add the city's two major symbols: the statue of the Cristo
Redentor (the Redomptor Christ) and thee Pão-de-Açúcar
(the Sugar Loaf). These
two Rio de Janeiro's icones are inserted in a natueral site that strikes
the visitor at firts sight with their contour of rare beauty in an unbanized
area.

The
beaches and the carnival
Rio
de Janeiro is the first tourist destination touristique of foreigners
visiting Brazil. Its beautiful beaches , among them Copacabana
and Ipanema, and specially its Carnival count a lot for
this, without any doubt. They are clichés, you will tell us. However,
they are not less true for that. Then, prepare you to trip to discover
them. You will be fascinated.
Art
and history
Besides the well known tourist attractions whose
fame is not necessary to talk about, the city counts some buildings, some
churches and monuments that worthwhile a visit for their
architectural, historical and artistic richness.
